It really is a challenge being fresh out of college and in a corporate environment. First I need to really hone in on my “professional skills,” because if I’m not professional no one will take me seriously because of the latter.
Since I am freelancing - creating websites for a number of different clients, I believe I am well on my way to truly becoming a businesswoman.
*This has hindered the amount of time I am spending painting. But I realize that the way things are going, I will not be doing that as a source of income. I am completely okay with that. [student loans!]
My goal is to start my own branding and communications company. I was blessed with an internship to a self-employed amazing woman who is doing well and doing what she loves. This inspired me to study more design and start to teach myself more of the communication aspect of the business.
Now I am teaching myself PHP. This is just another example of how an illustration student is becoming a web developer. Everything I’m doing now, I have self taught.
*I’ve been updating my website with more of my design work and my web work. Please check it out! I am updating as I go, but my hard work is starting to pay off.
